THE ELIXER TREE

The Elixer Tree was the Winner of the Open award for the 2016 Waimarino Art Awards. The painting was initially about the cutting down of the tree on One Tree Hill Auckland, However as I started to paint it I realized I could not paint something based on hate.  The Artwork transformed into a story about all the human experiences we have ,  the triumphs, the despair the grief, all of it as we reach for the stars as a collective species.  It is fundamentally a story of hope and of understanding  that while are individuals we are also part of a collective story.
